ONCOR LINEAR ACCELERATOR

Delivering the latest in radiation cancer treatments, the ONCOR Linear Accelerator features Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) and a built-in CT Scanner that pinpoints the exact location of a tumor and delivers the intended amount of radiation based on each individual patient.

This state-of-the-art treatment reduces the risk of damage to healthy tissues and organs so patients experience fewer complications, quicker recovery times and a better quality of life. As a person moves, their organs move. IGRT uses a CT scan to track down the precise location of tumors to see if the tumor has shifted. The radiation beams are corrected accordingly, ensuring that the beams hit exactly on target.

Due to its level of accuracy, IMRT is widely accepted for treating multiple tumor types. Complications and side effects commonly attributed to radiotherapy, such as urinary incontinence, impotence and xerostomia are reduced with IMRT treatments because of its ability to decrease toxicity rates to critical areas of the body.
